After lunch, the tour continues to the Roman Amphitheater of Santa Maria Capua Vetere. Second in size only to the Colosseum, which probably served as a model having been, probably, the first amphitheater of the Roman world. It was the seat of the first and world renowned school of gladiators. Admire the ruins of this great work trampling the soil from which the gladiator Spartacus in 73 BC led the revolt that for two years held in check Rome.
Then we will move to nearby Capua one of the largest cities of ancient Italy, after Rome to visit the Campano Museum one of the most important in Italy, where you will see the world's most important collection of Matres Matutae, testimony of a particular indigenous pre-Roman cult, dedicated to fertility, the protection of the mother and her offspring, collections of pottery, bronze artifacts and collections of terrecotta.
